After spending a year extensively designing our second round of internships in 2020 - making trips to Pakistan to reach out to new businesses, having conversations with the public sector in Pakistan and beginning a rigorous interview season - our plans, like many individuals and businesses around the world, were disrupted by Covid-19.
We faced a dilemma.
We wanted to prioritise the health and safety of our interns, but were passionate about finding a way to offer them a valuable avenue to up-skill during summer. We didn’t want to be another organisation that cancelled internships outright, leaving our applicants out to dry.
So we decided to translate some of our in-person internships to online experiences. So far, we’ve worked with the Karachi Down Syndrome Program, LUMS and a Central Bank in Pakistan to offer remote internships to Dil applicants around the globe.
