About this Company
The first of our cultural internships, the Fareed Bhandar Trust is dedicated to preserving and resurrecting generations worth of classical Punjabi musical compositions and poetry. The Fareed Bhandar trust is looking for interns who have a basic knowledge of Pakistan and are passionate about working to raise awareness of Pakistan’s rich musical, poetic and artistic history.
Responsibilities
Interns in this role will be responsible for
Organising Punjabi musical compositions (lessons with Ustad Chote Ghulam Ali Khan of Qasoor Gharana) according to Thaats, with the eventual aim that they be used for educational purposes and would be of value to researchers and musicians. The Trust would then plan to disseminate these (for example through an archival website).
Organising recordings of classical Pubjabi poetry (poets from Baba Farid to Khawaja Ghulam Farid) by poet and kaafi-wise.
Requirements to Apply
Basic knowledge of Pakistan
An interest in classical Punjabi Sufi poetry and music is desirable
